Stephen Spinelli

Stephen Spinelli is the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for Finance and Administration for the Central Park Conservancy. Stephen has been with the Conservancy since 1993. As CFO, he oversees the Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology divisions of the Conservancy. His responsibilities include: preparation and oversight of the Conservancy’s budget, administration of endowment funds and investments, and management of all general accounting, audit, risk management, business policy, personnel, technology, insurance, and litigation functions.

Stephen oversaw the implementation of a company-wide management information system including: fully integrated accounting, budgeting, procurement, human resources, reporting, and time and attendance systems.

During his tenure as CFO the Central Park Conservancy’s net assets have more than doubled; increasing by more than $120 million. This change has been instrumental in ensuring that the organization’s mission is reasonably insulated from economic cycles.

Prior to his role as CFO, he held the positions of Vice President for Finance, Director of Capital Projects, and Deputy Chief of Operations.

Stephen holds a B.B.A in Management from Hofstra University.

    The Arsenal was built between 1847 and 1851 as a munitions supply depot for New York State’s National Guard. That original military use would be short-lived, as it soon became part of Central Park.
