The Community Relations and Special Events Intern supports the work of the Conservancy’s Film & Special Events and Community Relations departments.

Job Description:

Community Relations and Special Events Intern

The Community Relations and Special Events Intern supports the work of the Conservancy’s Film & Special Events and Community Relations departments.

Duties include:

·         Providing staff support in the field regarding quality of life issues, Park visitors, user groups, and matters requiring assistance from an enforcement agency

·         Communications with regular user groups and holders of special event and athletic field permits

·         Data collection and entry regarding user groups and park use

·         Attendance and assistance at various community and committee meetings

·         Assist with responding to communications regarding filming in photography in the Park, which includes explaining the Park’s rules and regulations and making sure that productions adhere to those rules

·         Assist with events including pre-event logistics, on-site operations during the event, and event clean-up

·         Assist with calendar updates and scheduling of events, film and photo shoots, etc.

·         Assist with updating and standardizing event logistics documents, such as pre-event checklists and schedules

Requirements:

·         Self-starter, enthusiastic about the outdoors and Central Park

·         Comfortable working with visitors and user groups of all ages, especially in an outdoor setting

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a group

·         Ability to closely follow instructions and all safety procedures

·         Ability to perform heavy physical labor in all types of weather (rain gear will be provided)

·         Ability to interact extensively with the public and cross-functionally with CPC staff

·         Proficiency in MS Word

Schedule:

Thursday – Monday

Thursday, Friday, and Monday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
