Job Summary:
The Central Park Conservancy is looking for a Content Intern to assist the Communications and External Affairs department. This position will receive a comprehensive view of the department, supporting teams in all areas, including press, internal communications, social media, graphics, and website. Responsibilities include researching and writing content for internal and external audiences, assisting with press and social media monitoring, and helping to manage internal databases. The internship is 20 hours per week. Specific days and times are flexible and will be determined based on the intern’s availability. Interns are paid biweekly at a competitive hourly rate of $15/hour. Housing and transportation are the responsibility of each individual intern.

Job Summary:

Responsibilities include researching and writing content for internal and external audiences, assisting with press and social media monitoring, and helping to manage internal databases.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

Daily tasks and projects may include, but are not limited to:

  • Researching Central Park information and maintaining the organization’s internal information library
  • Developing content for the electronic boards to communicate news and events to Conservancy staff

       Assisting the Content Manager with story research and transcribing interviews

       Monitoring social media accounts and media mentions; scheduling posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

       Updating content on the Conservancy’s website

Minimum Requirements:

       Enrolled or recently graduated college or graduate student

       Related prior work experience or internship

       Ability to work independently

       Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented

       Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with the public and cross-functionally within the Conservancy

       Knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

       Familiarity with Central Park a plus, but not required
