Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician performs routine facility maintenance tasks throughout park facilities and visitor centers on a daily basis. The position reports directly to the Technical Services Supervisor. The ability to work a varied schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings, and availability for overtime is also required.

Job Description:

Reports to: Supervisor of Technical Services

Department: Operations

Status: Full Time/Non-Exempt

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, 9:00am - 5:30pm (Occasional weekends and holidays)


Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Performs maintenance tasks including, garbage removal, and facility cleaning including: sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, window cleaning, floor stripping and finishing.
  • Public and staff restroom maintenance including washing fixtures, walls, mopping floors, cleaning windows, polishing stainless steel and other hard surfaces.
  • Painting.
  • Snow and Ice removal.
  • Operates supplied equipment/machines/vehicles to execute the above tasks in a proper and safe manner.
  • Interacts with Park patrons in a professional manner including providing accurate and pertinent information regarding Park landmarks and events.
  • Reports damage and vandalism, park wide.
  • Assists with events preparation and set up as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to perform heavy, physical labor on a daily basis in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.occasionally.
  • Ability to perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks using various hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge and experience using and various floor maintenance, power washing and drain clearing equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrating good judgment at all times.
  • Willingness to work a schedule that varies to meet the needs of the Park, including weekends, holidays and evenings.
