Job Summary:
Ready to showcase your creativity while developing your video production talents? This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in video production. The video production intern will assist the Communications and External Affairs department. This position will support our Director of Video Production in creating videos for the Central Park Conservancy. Responsibilities include researching and creating video content for internal and external audiences, assisting with video shoots and production, editing video and audio, and helping to manage the Conservancy’s videos for our website and social media platforms.

About the Park

Built between the years 1858 and 1873, Central Park is almost entirely man-made and considered to be a single work of art. Composed of natural elements – turf, woodlands, and water bodies, along with architectural elements, this 843-acre National Historic Landmark receives 42 million visits from over 9 million unique visitors each year. Founded in 1980, the mission of the Central Park Conservancy is to restore, manage and enhance Central Park in partnership with the public.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Researching and writing copy about Central Park and the Conservancy for video publication on our website, internal information library, social media, and other platforms.
  • Preparing ideas and developing content for videos to promote the Conservancy
  • Maintaining and fact-checking existing videos to ensure accuracy and relevancy
  • Assisting the Director of Video Production with story research and conducting interviews
  • Attending video shoots throughout Central Park and providing assistance in production

Minimum Requirements:

  • Related prior work experience or internship
  • Ability to work independently or part of a group
  • Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with the public and cross-functionally within the Conservancy
  • Prior experience with video and audio production and editing software especially Premiere Pro
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule and tasks
  • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, occasional evenings and weekends
  • Familiarity with Central Park a plus, but not required
