Job Summary:
Intern will assist the Volunteer Department with administrative support and be involved in the Volunteer on-boarding processes, including intake, training, and placement as an official Central Park Volunteer. The Intern will learn about the many volunteer opportunities offered by Central Park Conservancy and how we recruit, train, and manage our volunteers.

Job Description:

Volunteer Services Intern

Intern will assist the Volunteer Department with administrative support and be involved in the Volunteer onboarding processes, including intake, training, and placement as an official Central Park Volunteer. The Intern will learn about the many volunteer opportunities offered by Central Park Conservancy and how we recruit, train, and manage our volunteers.

Duties include:

  • Learning our volunteer database and helping to input volunteer information during the interview and training process
  • Helping to collect materials and prepare folders for Volunteer Open House orientations and training sessions.
  • Organize the uniforms for all graduating volunteers and provide any current volunteer with uniform pieces they may need
  • On occasion, attend and assist with some of our weekday volunteer programs
  • Log volunteer hours into our database system
  • Assist the Managers with volunteer development opportunities
  • Help to manage the Volunteer Hotline and email address to answer basic questions about the programs that we offer and direct people to our website where they can sign up to volunteer

Requirements:

  • Self-starter, enthusiastic about working with volunteers of all ages
  • Adaptable and able to work independently and as part of a group
  • Ability to interact extensively with the public and cross-functionally with CPC staff
  • Proficiency in MS Word

Schedule:

Monday – Friday

9:00 am – 5:00 pm
