The Executive Assistant and Board Liaison to the Women’s Committee is a key team member who will provide high-level administrative support to the Executive Director of the Women’s Committee, the Women’s Committee Team as well as the volunteer Women’s Committee Board of Directors. Essential duties will include department wide calendar management, general office management/clerical responsibilities as well as serving as the liaison to the Women’s Committee Board of Trustees. The Executive Assistant and Board Liaison will assist with gift processing, mailings, event registrations, meetings, and events logistics. Works in a team environment and must have superior communication, organization, and customer service skills.

About Central Park and the Central Park Conservancy
The Central Park Conservancy is the principal steward of Central Park, one of the world’s most treasured cultural landmarks. Over the last 40 years the Conservancy has overseen the restoration of this 843-acre historic landscape, and now, under a contract with the City of New York, has complete responsibility for managing and caring for the Park and for raising the resources necessary to support that commitment. With the restoration of Central Park now largely complete, the Conservancy is committed to creating and executing a long-term plan for the stewardship of this vital urban resource into its next era.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
1. Assistant to Women’s Committee Executive Director:
- Provide high level administrative support
- Prepare correspondence, documents, presentations
- Manage Executive Director’s Calendar
- Answer Executive Director’s phone and take appropriate action
- Handle all incoming and outgoing correspondence for Executive Director
- Organize petty cash and receipts for Executive Director and Women’s Committee Department, and process through a web-based expense reporting system
2. Women’s Committee Board Liaison:
- Assist Women’s Committee Volunteer President as requested
- Manage all aspects of Women’s Committee Board and subsidiary Committees, including Presidents’ Council, the Executive Committee, and the Nominating Committee. This individual will be responsible for sending meeting notices, drafting agendas, writing speaking points, compiling meeting packets, making follow up phone calls, tracking attendance, ordering food/drink, etc.
- Distributes meeting minutes when appropriate and maintains historical meeting files
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations on behalf of the Women’s Committee for the Board Trustee and Development Committee meetings
3. Office & Event support:
- Answer department general phone line and take appropriate action
- Assist department with all events - set up, check-in, break-down, etc.
- Sort and code donations as they are processed through the office electronically
- Support Women’s Committee Department operations by opening purchase orders, data entry in Raiser’s Edge, pulling lists from data base, etc.
- Update department financials monthly and circulate when necessary
- Responsible for maintaining Women’s Committee Department by ordering stationery and supplies, keeping office space and kitchen organized and equipment running properly
- Maintain Women’s Committee Department Calendars
- Field requests from Board Members to appropriate Program Managers
- Responsible for coordinating workflow with temporary and volunteer help on an as needed basis
- Assists with mailings including: letter writing, management of solicitor lists, mail merges, stuffing, sealing, addressing, and stamping
4. Other Responsibilities:
- Maintain department vehicle and golf cart--coordinates usage, collects appropriate paperwork, keeps vehicle clean and fueled at all times
- Keep conference room calendar
- Performs other duties as required
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years of experience providing administrative support for senior management
- Team player
- Excellent computer skills required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge is preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Confident to drive in New York City and Central Park
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Superior written and communications skills required
- Ability to perform general clerical functions (business letter writing, filing, photocopying, electronic scheduling, record-keeping, faxing, and mailing)
- Familiarity with the New York City philanthropic community a plus
- Familiarity with Central Park a plus
- Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 30 lbs.

of many Park-wide programs including: Adopt-A-Bench, Tree Trust, Playground Partners, Tulips & Daffodils, Perimeter Association, Conservancy Docents, and Olmsted Visionaries. This dynamic collective was founded in 1983 by four women with a passion for preserving and beautifying Central Park and is governed by its own Board of Directors.
