The Central Park Conservancy offers a wide variety of Recreation Programs based out of the North Meadow Recreation Center, located mid-Park at 97th Street. The Center provides a safe, outdoor setting where people of all ages can play sports, participate in clinics, and take part in healthful activities throughout the year. Spend a Saturday on the Harlem Meer with our fishing experts. Youth participants will learn new fishing techniques, such as baiting and casting, and enhance their fishing skills through small-group instruction. Program includes lessons in Central Park's aquatic ecology and diverse fish species. Free; children must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited; advance registration required. Learn and enhance your skills in the game of basketball through small group instruction and competitive games in this high-energy, interactive clinic. Designed to help young players of all levels develop both on and out the court, these clinics focus on skill development, team play, and sportsmanship. Ages 5 – 17. Free and open to players of all abilities.
Our youth basketball tournaments provide adolescents from all five boroughs with a safe, yet competitive environment in which to play and enhance their skills in basketball. The program is free, however admission into the tournament is by invitation only. Please call 212.348.4867 for more information. Join us for free instructional handball clinics and competitive tournaments for youth ages 10-18 years old. Each program will focus on skill development, competitive play and sportsmanship. Open to players of all abilities.

Learn to enjoy Central Park’s oldest pastime. Registration is now open for fall and winter Youth Beginner Ice Skating Clinics. This free, 5-lesson ice skating clinic teaches the basic elements of ice-skating through group and individual instruction. Each session includes equipment rental. Ages 6-10.
