Schools Gotta Have Park

"He who plants a tree, plants hope."
-- Lucy Larcom

Schools Gotta Have Park is a program of the Central Park Conservancy which promotes environmental stewardship and the care of trees. Students fundraise to endow trees in Central Park in their school’s name, with paving stone recognition in the Mall.
Central Park with its 26,000 trees is the heart and lungs of
New York City.

Benefits:

This local program benefits New Yorkers and the millions of Park visitors each year, while also helping to fight global warming and protecting our planet by supporting the planting and caring of trees in Central Park. Other benefits include:

  • Participating schools are invited to an event in Central Park to celebrate their support of Central Park and to further involve the students in promoting good environmental stewardship.

  • A Central Park Conservancy representative will visit participating schools to give an overview of its mission with a presentation on the Conservancy’s work, including it’s youth leadership and educational opportunities.

  • Families who contribute $125 or more to the Schools Gotta Have Park Tree Trust Program will receive complimentary family memberships. Visit www.centralparknyc.org/membership for a list of benefits.
