The Conservancy Debuts Photography Collection Celebrating the Grandeur of Central Park
Collection on Display at Paul Stuart's New York Flagship Store, beginning September 7
The Central Park Conservancy is proud to announce the debut of the Central Park Collection, an assembly of photographs celebrating the splendor of one of the world's great public spaces. The Central Park Collection features images of Central Park captured by the Conservancy's official photographer and historian, Sara Cedar Miller — many of which were published in her critically acclaimed book, Central Park, An American Masterpiece (Harry N. Abrams, Inc.)
The customized black and white or color prints in the Collection offer both familiar and seldom-seen views of Central Park throughout the seasons. Colorful spring blooms, glorious autumn landscapes, snow-covered arches, beloved statues, and majestic fountains and water bodies are a few of the scenes highlighted in the Collection. Proceeds from the sale of the prints will support the Conservancy's work to restore, manage, and preserve this national treasure.
Visitors to the prestigious New York retailer Paul Stuart, on Madison Avenue at East 45th Street, will get a sneak peek of the Collection, where select images will be on display in their store windows beginning September 7. Designed to guide customers through "A Walk in the Park," the windows will showcase the style and grace of Paul Stuart and of Central Park itself. Coming this fall, the images displayed at Paul Stuart will be available for purchase on the Conservancy's website. The Dairy Visitor Center & Gift Shop will display select photos initially, along with Ms. Miller's portfolio for Park visitors to view.
Visitors to the Paul Stuart store on Madison Avenue may also enter a contest to win a private tour of Central Park. Twelve winners will be invited to bring a guest and experience a guided tour of the Park, led by Sara Cedar Miller and scheduled to correspond with prime fall foliage viewing.
