November Tree of the Month
Tree of the Month  November
Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo Biloba trees are considered to have one of the oldest lineages in the world. They can reach over 80 feet in height with spreads of up to 80 feet. When fall comes, their unique fan-shaped leaves morph from green into gold. Before the whole leaf turns golden, there is sometimes a stage during which the leaf is two-toned, with separate bands of gold and green. November is perhaps the best month for viewing these magnificent trees, as their golden leaves seem to shimmer in the autumn light. Ginkgos are disease-resistant and tolerate urban pollution well, making them sensible choices for planting along city streets, where they can grow into tall shade trees.

This magnificent Ginkgo Biloba tree is located along West Drive in Strawberry Fields. To learn more about how you can endow this Ginkgo, please call 212-310-6617 or e-mail
