Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Horticultural maintenance including:
- Planting perennial and annual displays,
- Mowing and string trimming as well as lawn renovation,
- Winter maintenance including snow and ice removal,
- Fall and Spring Clean-Up,
- Irrigation and maintenance of lawns, trees, and shrubs,
- Pruning understory trees and shrubs,
- Litter and trash removal within “zone”,
- Assisting with Special events as needed,
- Supervising and training personnel in various horticultural tasks,
- Training seasonal staff,
- Interacting with Park patrons in a professional manner including providing accurate and pertinent information regarding Park landmarks and events.
Performance of other duties as required |

Qualified candidates will have:
- Two or more years horticultural experience, degree in horticulture and/or related field
- Experience with various landscape maintenance equipment
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which could include weekends, Holidays, evenings and overtime
- Must have a valid NY state Driver's License
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Pesticide License is a plus
- Knowledge of Central Park is a plus
