Central Park Conservancy as we team with professional actors from New York Classical Theatre to hone our Shakespearean acting skills amidst the Park’s beautiful backdrop.

No experience necessary!

Drama Workshops for Families

Ready, Set, Act! Participants will learn the story of William Shakespeare’s play, Cymbeline, how to get ready for the performance that night, and get a chance to act from the script! Geared toward children ages 7 to 12 and their families. Bring a picnic dinner to enjoy between the workshop and free roving performance of Cymbeline, which begins at 7:00 pm in the same location.

 Shakespeare for Adults Workshops

Have an interest in the classical arts of literature, acting, or romancing? Join us! This workshop focuses on acting, text, speech, poetry, and New York Classical Theatre’s unique performance technique, Panoramic Theatre. Bring a picnic dinner to enjoy between the workshop and free roving performance of George Bernard Shaw’s play, Misalliance, which begins at 7:00 pm in the same location.

Harlem Meer Social Hour program: Ready, Set, Act!

This special Shakespeare for Adults workshop is part of the Conservancy’s monthly Harlem Meer Social Hour program at the Dana Center. It includes plenty of time for mingling and complimentary refreshments.
