The Central Park Conservancy welcomes back professional musicians and educators from Central Park Brass, one of New York City's premier brass quintets, to our playgrounds for Sandbox Music. Highly interactive and fun, Sandbox Music programs stimulate young minds and spirits. Children are invited to clap-, sing-, and march-along, and even get the chance to play percussion instruments.
Central Park Brass was formed in 2002 by trumpeter Arthur Murray and has been leading the Sandbox Music program since that same year. The members of the ensemble perform with leading Broadway shows and orchestras throughout the New York Metro area. In 2007 and 2008, Central Park Brass musicians performed with ensembles and artists ranging from the New York Philharmonic (including their recent visit to North Korea) and the Metropolitan Opera, to the Broadway smash hit Jersey Boys and Kanye West, among many others. Meet the Central Park Brass Sandbox Music artists!
- David Spier, trumpet, on stage solo trumpet from the smash Broadway hit, Jersey Boys.
- Arthur Murray, trumpet, founder of Central Park Brass, member of the Naumburg Orchestra, the Westchester Chamber Orchestra and a teaching artist with Midori and Friends
- Angela Cordell, french horn, frequent performances with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra

Hilarious and poignant, vivacious and inspiring, the world comes to life with Dan’s multicultural Sandbox Stories programs.
Dan Kitrosser is an award-winning writer, actor and storyteller. As a storyteller he can be seen regularly at both Central and Bryant Park (as Flaubert Frog), as well as schools and libraries around the city. His one-man childrens' shows include "Blizzard the Wizard" (Urban Stages) and "Around the World for Magda Magellan"(Urban Stages and New York Public Library). Dan's first musical, "Night of the Butterfly" for which he both starred in and wrote the music and lyrics has played a successful first season at the Bleecker Street Theatre in 2008.
