Beginner Climbing For Groups (Ages 8 to 17)
Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00am to 2:30pm
North Meadow Recreation Center
Mid-Park at 97th Street
Climbing course for school groups and community-based organizations that teaches various techniques, balance, and safety using the indoor and outdoor climbing walls. Equipment is provided. Pre-registration required. FEE required. Call 212-348-4867x10 for information.

Challenge Course for Groups (Ages 12 - 17)
Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 am to 2:30 pm

Experience the dynamics of teambuilding through cooperative games and problem-solving initiatives. Enhance your group's ability to work together during our challenge course sponsored by the Central Park Conservancy. Portable games focus on communications, goal setting, planning and leadership, followered by group discussions. Ages 12 - 17. FEE required. Registration required. Field Day Kits

Kits: basketball, 10 cones, 3 bats, horse shoe set, playground ball, nerf ball, football, Frisbee, 2 handballs, soccer ball, jump rope, 2 whiffle balls, hula hoops.
Field day kits are available on a first-come-first-served basis. A canvas sack stocked with a variety of games and sports equipment-everything you need to host an exciting trip or family outing in the Park. With valid photo ID. ALL AGES. FREE. 212-348-4867 Call to register.

Exploring Nature in Central Park

Belvedere Castle
Mid-Park at 79th Street
In partnership with Bank Street College of Education, the Central Park Conservancy is currently engaged in a redesign of the Castle's Discovery Room. The exhibit covers two floors of the Castle, and currently features an informational panel on the importance of trees and a display of common birds that can be found in surrounding areas. Discovery Kits for birdwatching in the woodland Ramble are available with two pieces of ID. ALL AGES. FREE; reservations required for groups of 25 people or more. Call 212-772-0210 for information.

Adult Climbing (ages 18 and up) Open Hours
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Sundays, 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm
North Meadow Recreation Center

Join the Central Park Conservancy at the indoor climbing wall at the North Meadow Recreation Center during open climbing hours. The wall includes a small roof, steep angles, and an arête. $100 includes participant ID card, all equipment, and free climbing during adult open sessions. $7 for a day pass. Ages 18 and up. Youth Indoor Wall Climbing (Ages 8 to 17) Open Hours
Sundays, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
North Meadow Recreation Center
Mid-Park at 97th Street
Join the Central Park Conservancy at the indoor climbing wall at the North Meadow Recreation Center during open climbing hours. The wall includes a small roof, steep angles, and an arete. Participants receive I.D. card, all equipment, and free climbing. Youth who have successfully completed the climbing courses at North Meadow will be able to use the indoor climbing wall during youth open climbing hours. AGES 8 to 17. Fee $5. No registration required.
