Lasker Rink and Pool
Lasker Pool

The Lasker Pool is the ideal place to cool off during New York's steamy summers

Lasker Rink and Pool is located mid-Park between 106th and 108th Streets. It was built in the 1960s and occupies a magnificent upper Park site at the end of the Loch and overlooking the Harlem Meer. While the Wollman Rink (in the lower Park between East 62nd and 63rd Streets) converts its ice rink into a venue for summertime activities, Lasker Rink is transformed into a public swimming pool. In its ice-skating mode, Lasker has two oval rinks: one for high school hockey teams and one for all ages. The swimming pool is the most popular neighborhood retreat from New York's steaming summers. It's easy to find the pool even without a map, since the sounds of children in a pool in the summer are unmistakable.
