Pitch In, Pick Up

Volunteering to Pitch In, Pick Up is a quick and easy way to help keep Central Park clean and beautiful. By showing up at one of our four Visitor Centers below, you can volunteer to help pick up litter.

The days and times for Pitch In, Pick Up are Tuesday – Sunday between 10:00 am – 3:00 pm (hours are seasonal and subject to change). After a brief orientation, you will be given a trash grabber, gloves, a lanyard with a map of the location you’re going to work in, and garbage bags to place litter into. Then pitch in by helping us pick up litter.

To participate, you must be 18 or older, or a minor accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. You must show a valid form of ID before filling out a one-time waiver form.

This program is available to individuals and groups of 5 or fewer, and school groups at limited locations. School groups interested in Pitch In, Pick Up, please contact Chess & Checkers House or North Meadow Recreation Center locations only.
