There are five visitor centers in Central Park. At each one you can get information about the Park, recreation activities and upcoming events.
Dairy Visitor Center and Gift Shop
As one of the Conservancy's five visitor centers, parkgoers can find information on Park events and programs at the Dairy. Maps, guides and gifts are also available, all of which support the Conservancy’s mission.
Chess & Checkers House
The Chess & Checkers House is one of five Park visitor centers run by the Central Park Conservancy. Players are welcome to borrow pieces from the Conservancy staff, or bring their own. Dominos and backgammon are also available.
Belvedere Castle
Calvert Vaux created the miniature castle in 1869 as one of its many whimsical structures intended as a lookout to the reservoir to the north (now the Great Lawn) and the Ramble to the south.
Charles A. Dana Discovery Center
The Charles A. Dana Discovery Center opened to the public in 1993 and offers a wide variety of the Conservancy's free education and community programs, seasonal exhibits and holiday celebrations.
Tavern on the Green
The historic Tavern on the Green building has been through many transformations through the years. It is currently closed for renovation and will reopen to the public in summer 2013.

Delacorte Clock
Named after philanthropist George T. Delacorte, the clock brings seasonal chimes on the half hour to a nook of the Park near the Children's Zoo.
