Mariners' Playground

This nautically themed playground is located just north of Summit Rock, near the Park's Mariners' Gate entrance. It provides a variety of play experiences for younger children.

Age Groups:
Toddler, Pre-school

This playground features playhouses, climbers, swings, tunnels, and slides as well as plenty of open space for free play.

Closure Alert: Mariners' Playground is closed for reconstruction as part of the Conservancy's current focus on the Park's system of 21 playgrounds, outlined in our Plan for Play. Details about the project are available on our Restoration page.


Initiated in 1991 by the Women's Committee of the Central Park Conservancy, Playground Partners is a group of volunteers who ensure that Central Park's 21 playgrounds are kept safe and well maintained.

Get Involved with Central Park Playgrounds

The Playground Partners program was founded in 1991 by the Women's Committee of the Central Park Conservancy to maintain the quality and cleanliness of Central Park's 21 playgrounds. The funds raised through Playground Partners membership and event contributions go directly towards the preservation, care, and daily inspection of these cherished play spaces.
