The Annabelle hydrangea is native to the northern United States, first discovered in Illinois. The blooms of this flower change from green to white. This shrub grows well with partial shade and moderately moist soil. The flowers of this particular hydrangea are much larger than other hydrangea species. Atypically they bloom on the current year's wood and can be cut back in spring.
