Tours FAQ

What is the difference between free tours and ticketed tours?
Ticketed tours have limited capacity and may sell out, so advance ticket purchase is recommended

Is my credit card transaction secure?
Yes. Your ticket purchase goes through our SSL.

Why am I limited to purchasing six tickets per tour?
Groups of seven or more must schedule a Custom Tour. We can customize a tour to meet your group's schedule, interests, and route requirements. Custom Tours should be scheduled at least three weeks in advance.

Do you offer special pricing for children, students, or seniors?
We offer discounted tickets to Central Park Conservancy members; we do not have special pricing for children, students, or seniors.

How do I use my Central Park Conservancy Member Discount?
Your membership card has a code on the front (a word and number). When you check out, enter this code into the Discount Code box and click Apply. If you're not a Conservancy Member and would like to join, visit our membership page or call 212-446-2244.

I am having trouble processing my ticket purchase. Can someone help me?
For immediate assistance on tour ticket purchases, please contact us at 212-776-1066 (Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, excluding holidays), or 212-794-6564 (weekends from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm).

Do I need to bring my ticket confirmation to check in?
Please arrive at the meeting location 15 minutes before the start of the tour to allow time for check-in. You do not need to bring your printed ticket. Out of consideration for other guests, we cannot accommodate those arriving after the start time.

How will I know if a tour has been cancelled?
Tours take place rain or shine. In some weather conditions, a tour may be cancelled. We attempt to make weather cancellations as far in advance as possible. If you have reserved a ticket for a tour, we will notify you by email that the tour has been cancelled. Whether attending a free or ticketed tour, guests are encouraged to check cancellations on our calendar before leaving for a tour.

Are refunds available?
Ticket sales are final. We are unable to process refunds or exchanges if you are unable to attend the tour for which you have tickets. If a tour is cancelled due to weather, we will be happy to exchange your ticket for a comparable tour in the future. Please email us at tours@centralparknyc.org to exchange your cancelled tour tickets.

Are dogs allowed on tours?
Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome on most tours. Dogs are not allowed inside Visitor Centers, where you would check in for most ticketed tours. Dogs are not permitted on the Hallett Nature Sanctuary and Pond Tour. Dogs are not permitted on Discovery Walks for Families.

Are our tours accessible?
The easiest tours to traverse (least stairs and inclines) are the Iconic Views of Central Park, Heart of the Park, and Conservatory Garden (offered seasonally) Tours. Brief notes on the terrain are included in all tour descriptions. If you are not sure if a tour is right for you, we recommend contacting us before purchasing a ticket or arriving for a free tour at tours@centralparknyc.org.

Audio enhancement equipment and a limited number of hearing loops are available on the Iconic Views of Central Park Tour. A hearing loop can be requested with ticket purchase. Equipment may also be available on some seasonal tours, which will be noted on the tour's description.
