Turkish Filber Tree
The Turkish filbert is renowned for its popular hazelnuts. However, the Turkish filbert doesn't pollinate in Central Park because there aren't enough of them. This tree can be found just north of the Alice in Wonderland statue.

Culture: Tolerant of urban settings

Alternate, up to 5" long, turn yellow in the fall

1" - 4" catkins (male), small and inconspicuous (female)

< 1" long nuts (sometimes called 'Turkish nuts') that grow in clusters
