Area Representatives act as liaisons between the dog community and the Central Park Conservancy in one of the Park's 14 designated dog-friendly areas. These volunteers act as Park ambassadors with a focus on community building, which includes identifying and communicating with smaller dog communities within an area (weekday vs. weekend Park users, for example). They are also responsible for sending monthly area reports and hosting the Bagel Barks in their area. Volunteering as a Paws Area Representative is great way for New Yorkers who regularly walk their dogs in the Park to get even more involved in the dog community!
An interview and commitment of at least 3 hours per week are required.

Oak Bridge at Bank Rock Bay
This footbridge crossing Bank Rock Bay was originally built of white oak – hence its early name, Oak Bridge. In 2009, the Conservancy recreated the bridge using historic photographs and original drawings.
