Youth Basketball Clinic

It's not just shooting hoops! This high-energy, interactive clinic provides youth with an opportunity to learn and enhance their skills in the game of basketball through small group instruction and competitive games. Designed to help young people develop both on and out the court, these clinics focus on skill development, team play and sportsmanship.

Clinics are free of charge and open to players of all abilities, aged 9 to 17. Clinics are held every Saturday from April to October at the North Meadow Recreation Center from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Clinic participants will have the opportunity to compete in our free spring Youth Basketball Tournaments for ages 9-17, from May 7 - June 21, 2012.

Things to See

  • Central Park's Turtle Pond Turtle Pond

Like all of the other water bodies in Central Park, Turtle Pond is man-made – filled with New York City drinking water. However, you wouldn’t want to drink this water, since it’s filled with five species of turtles who live in the Pond year round.
