Central Park Paws

Central Park Paws, a program of the Central Park Conservancy, represents the thousands of dog owners who enjoy the Park every day, and aims to foster and maintain a dialogue between dog owners and the Conservancy on behalf of the Park.

Central Park has a total of 26 ballfields available for use with a city permit. Permits are issued from mid-April through mid-September.

Fishing

Catch-and-release fishing is allowed year-round in the Harlem Meer. During the warmer months of the year, you can even borrow a rod and bait for free through the Central Park Conservancy's Catch-and-Release Fishing program at the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center.
