The Scene @ Tavern on the Green

This summer, a new series of seasonal programs comes to Central Park's historic Tavern on the Green building. The Scene @ Tavern on the Green brings free workshops and events to the terrace of the Park's newest visitor center and gift shop. Keep an eye on our calendar to find out about Wednesday's Tavern Twilights, Fitness Fridays, Kids on the Scene, and other events that include outdoor music performances, film screenings, lectures, fitness events, walking tours and more. No advance registration. Space is limited; seats are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. This exciting series is co-presented with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation in order to create a vibrant, happening scene for Parkgoers who visit Tavern on the Green this summer.

Take a look at the below calendar to find events in The Scene @ Tavern on the Green program, as well as free guided walking tours of Tavern and the areas surrounding.

Things to See

  • The Pilgrim Sculpture in Central Park Pilgrim Hill

A little knoll that rises to the southwest of Conservatory Water, Pilgrim Hill takes its name from the bronze statue that sits atop its crest. Most, however, know it as one of the best sledding spots in New York City.
