Chess & Checkers

Playing Chess in Central ParkThere's nothing quite like a good game of chess or checkers while surrounded by the natural beauty of Central Park. At the Chess & Checkers House, one of five Park visitor centers run by the Central Park Conservancy, players are welcome to borrow pieces from the Conservancy staff or bring their own. Dominos and backgammon are also available. Conservancy staff can even arrange a partner for you to play with.
