  • Bethesda Terrace in Central Park

    Park designers Olmsted and Vaux envisioned a Promenade that led to a grand terrace overlooking the Lake. The carvings represent the four seasons and, on the side facing the Mall, the times of day.

    Bicycles for riding in Central Park are available for rent at the Loeb Central Park Boathouse daily, April through November.

    One of the oldest examples of cast iron bridges in America, Bridge No. 24 is located near the south gate house of the Reservoir and spans the Bridle Path. It was restored by the Central Park Conservancy in 1989, and again in 2012.
