
The East 110th Street Playground is currently closed for reconstruction. Located across from the Harlem Meer, this playground has beautiful views of the lake, rock outcroppings and distant hills. The Charles A. Dana Discovery Center, a visitor center, is adjacent to the playground and offers additional recreational opportunities. Fishing poles are available for children and adults to borrow for catch-and-release fishing in the Meer.

The playground includes a large, wooden climbing structure that integrates slides, poles, and tire swings. The surrounding lawns are popular for picnicking.

Initiated in 1991 by the Women's Committee of the Central Park Conservancy, Playground Partners is a group of volunteers who ensure that Central Park's 21 playgrounds are kept safe and well maintained.
