One of Calvert Vaux’s earliest arches, Denesmouth supports the 65th Street Transverse and is the passageway between the Central Park Zoo and the Children’s Zoo. Spanning just over 37 feet in length, the arch is made of light-brown New Brunswick sandstone. It’s four large posts originally carried ornate bronze lampposts.
East Side just north of the Central Park Wildlife Conservation Center at 65th Street and Fifth Avenue.
