One of the Park’s 36 bridges and arches, Driprock Arch is a visual standout with its red brick façade and Gothic-detailed balustrade of New Brunswick sandstone. Completed in 1860, it originally allowed passage for the bridle path, lost with the expansion of Heckscher Playground in the 1930s. Today, a pedestrian walk runs beneath its 24-foot elliptical arch, connecting Hecksher Playground to Wollman Rink.
