Custom Tours

The Central Park Conservancy offers one-of-a-kind, private tours of one of the world's great urban spaces. Whether you’re just visiting New York and would like to learn more about one of the City’s most popular attractions, or you’re a local resident and would like to see your “backyard” from a new perspective, a custom tour can be designed to suit your needs.

All custom tours are available with a donation, which helps support the Park!

Custom Van Tours Of Central Park by Conservancy Historian and Photographer Sara Cedar Miller
The Central Park Conservancy is pleased to offer one-of-a-kind, private tours of one of the world's great urban spaces. Led by Sara Cedar Miller, best-selling author of the critically acclaimed book, Central Park, An American Masterpiece, the customized tours offer an insider's view to America's most famous public park.

Miller, the Conservancy's official photographer and historian, will help you design your very own tour. One-hour and 1-1/2 hour van tours for up to seven people are available with a donation of $500 or $750 dollars respectively. Both options include one complimentary signed copy of her book.

You or the person(s) you are gifting will receive a certificate indicating that a donation has been made and instructions on how to schedule the tour within a year from the date of the donation. Tours are available for purchase year-round, and can be scheduled for a date between April and October.

Central Park Custom Walking Tours
A Custom Walking Tour is the perfect way to spend a morning or afternoon celebrating that special occasion, whether it’s a birthday or anniversary, a welcome to New York City, a group outing, or a retirement or going-away gift. Come see and learn about the Park at your own convenience. 

For a minimum donation of $100.00 (not-for-profit discount available), one of the Central Park Conservancy’s experienced and knowledgeable tour guides will help you tailor a tour of any area of the Park according to your interests and needs.

Conservatory Garden Custom Walking Tours
Perfect for gardening clubs! Come and explore the beauty of Central Park’s only formal garden by scheduling a walking tour led by its dedicated and knowledgeable staff.  For a minimum donation of $150.00 (not-for-profit discount available), you can learn about the history, design and seasonal plantings of the Garden.

Tour duration: 75-90 minutes (available weekdays only)  

Note: Custom walking tours require at least three weeks’ prior notice to guarantee the time, date and availability of tour guide. Groups of more than 25 will require more than one tour guide.
