Pitch In, Pick Up

Pitching in and picking up in Central Park

People are answering recent calls to service, looking for meaningful ways to lend a hand in their communities. Here in Central Park, we invite you to Pitch In, Pick Up!

At 843 acres, there's a lot that goes into maintaining New York City's "backyard" everyday. The Central Park Conservancy's dedicated staff keeps the Park lush and vibrant, but we need your help, too.

Our Pitch In, Pick Up volunteer program makes it easier than ever to be a part of your Park. Just stop by one of the Conservancy's visitor centers and sign out a volunteer name-tag , and choose either a trash-grabber or sweeper. Then pitch in by helping us pick up litter.

With more than 35 million people visiting Central Park each year, every stray napkin and tossed bottle adds up. Help us keep the Park clean and green, whether you have an hour or an afternoon to give.

Drop by one of our visitor centers at these locations to get a jump on cleaning in Central Park!

Please note that the Pitch In, Pick Up program is not valid for court-mandated community service. Anyone 18 and older can participate in the program. Volunteers who are under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
