Summer Internship Program

The Summer Internship provides full-time, paid summer jobs with the Central Park Conservancy for approximately 25 high school students. Interns support the horticulture, visitor services and public programs departments.
 
Summer InternsSummer interns work five days a week with individual schedules varying depending on the position and are paid a competitive hourly wage. Every Friday all interns work together as a group to complete special projects in Central Park, or to go on trips to other parks and environmental organizations to learn about current environmental issues, meet other teens in similar internship programs and challenge themselves in new situations.

Acceptance into the internship program is through a competitive application process. While all high schools students 16 years and up are eligible to apply, preference is given to students who have participated in one of the ROOTS programs or the Spring Visitor Center Internship. Applicants must be at least 16 years old by June 1. Applications are available in March.

  • Days: 5 days a week
  • Hours: 36 or 38 hours a week depending on position
  • Location: Park-wide
  • Age: High school students at least 16 years old by June 1
