Concerts

Central Park is home to concerts each spring, summer, and fall, ranging from small classical quartets to large rock concerts.

Some of the biggest names in music have performed in Central Park, continuing a glorious tradition of memorable New York City concerts under the stars. The Metropolitan Opera, Elton John, Simon & Garfunkel, Bon Jovi, Diana Ross, and Beyoncé — just to name a few — have all performed in the Park.

The Great Lawn hosts the New York Philharmonic in the summer and the Global Citizen Festival in the fall.

Rumsey Playfield is a hot spot for music, dance, spoken word, and film as the home of the popular SummerStage series and the Good Morning America Summer Concert Series.

The Naumburg Bandshell hosts music events in the summer, such as the Naumburg Orchestral Concerts.

The Conservancy presents two signature concert events each year. Great Jazz on the Great Hill features live music and swing dancing. The Harlem Meer Performance Festival presents a variety of performances featuring multicultural music and dance all summer long.
