Treasures from the Library: Touring Central Park in the 19th Century

Experience 19th century Central Park through photographs and documents in the collection of the New-York Historical Society's Patricia D. Klingenstein Library.

Marie Warsh, Central Park Conservancy historian, and Crystal Toscano, reference librarian, follow a 1866 New York City guidebook to recreate a tour of Central Park at this time. The presentation will feature popular destinations such as Bethesda Terrace, Children's District, the Menagerie, and the North End of Central Park.

This is a partnership program by the Central Park Conservancy and the New-York Historical Society. With questions about the Member Discount Code, please reach out to [email protected].
