Winter Tree Walk: Arthur Ross Pinetum Tour

Visit Central Park’s small but mighty evergreen forest and immerse yourself in its serene winter-time beauty.

Join us for a walk in the one section of the Park that remains green year-round—the Pinetum, a four-acre arboretum northwest of the Great Lawn. Its collection of 17 pine tree species is particularly impressive in the winter when the small evergreen forest brings a welcome swath of color to NYC.

The original plan for a “Winter Drive” in Central Park was short-lived, but pines were restored to the Park thanks to New York philanthropist Arthur Ross. Learn the history of this serene space and appreciate its tranquil beauty with Conservancy experts as your guide.
