Corporate "Day in the Dirt"

A unique opportunity for corporate groups to build camaraderie while promoting volunteerism, “Day in the Dirt” is a hands-on way to give back to the Park.

The Conservancy's "Day in the Dirt" program is a unique opportunity for corporate groups to promote volunteerism and environmental stewardship while building employee cohesiveness and camaraderie.

The opportunity to schedule a Day in the Dirt volunteer project is available to our corporate supporters through either a one day project and donation or an annual membership to the Corporate Partners Program.

Activities are assigned by the Conservancy based on the needs of the Park at the time of the scheduled program and may include:

  • Removing invasive plants or weeds
  • Painting benches, pipe fencing or railing
  • Planting ground cover, bulbs or other plantings
  • Sweeping pathways or perimeter sidewalks
  • Mulching
  • Raking leaves

Sessions are supervised by our trained field staff, and the Conservancy provides all of the tools or equipment needed for the activity. Fresh water is provided; companies may supply additional beverages or snacks, if they wish.

Participating companies are acknowledged with their logo on signage that is displayed in the work area while activities are underway.

Qualifications

The Conservancy requires a minimum of four weeks advance notice. The location and specific activity will be confirmed one to two weeks prior to the scheduled program.
