The Central Park Conservancy continues to monitor the shifting developments of COVID-19 in New York City. Central Park remains open to the public. To mitigate the spread of the virus and in alignment with recommendations from public health officials, in-Park tours and public programming are on pause, and all visitor centers and playgrounds are closed until further notice. See a complete list of affected programming and learn more on our updates page.

While staying indoors is critical, if you must get air or walk your dog, Central Park’s lawns have been reopened to assist with the needed social distancing and for passive solitary use only. Spend just a few minutes outside, keep at least 6 feet from others and please wear a face covering.

As of March 29, 2020, the East Meadow is closed to support New York’s COVID-19 abatement efforts.
