Roughly 80 percent of Central Park's budget comes from philanthropy—funding the vital work that makes this Park the treasure it is.
The City of New York has entrusted us with the immense responsibility of caring for all aspects of the Park. Funded primarily by individual donations, the Conservancy ensures Central Park remains clean, beautiful, free, and open to all, every day. We tend to the largest and smallest details of the Park’s maintenance and restoration, but this work is made possible with the support of individuals like you.
But It Wasn't Always This way...
The Central Park Conservancy was created in 1980 by New Yorkers determined to bring the Park back from ruin. Over nearly half a century, the Conservancy has meticulously restored its natural beauty, and today each bloom, tree, and bench is tended to by our expert team.
From the restoration of Belvedere Castle to the opening of the new Davis Center at the Harlem Meer, our work spans every corner.
