Learn techniques from Grandmaster Maxim Dlugy, who was once the number-one-ranked player in the world by World Blitz Chess Association. Then put your skills to the test while Maxim challenges 30 players—simultaneously!
We are also delighted to offer our beginners workshop after the lecture and simul. Participants will be taught the game rules, including how the pieces move and how to recognize and execute basic checkmate patterns, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
Event Schedule
10:30 AM: Check-in for lecture and simul
11:00 AM: Lecture with Maxim Dlugy (simul participants are encouraged to attend the lecture)
12:00 PM: Simul with Maxim Dlugy (prior chess experience required to participate; beginners are welcome to watch)
1:00 PM: Beginners workshop
This event series is free and open to players ages 6 and up. Register in advance to secure your spot in the lecture, simul, and/or beginners workshop. Registration will open one month prior to the scheduled program date.
Lecture capacity is limited to 40 people, simul capacity is limited to 30 players, and beginners workshop capacity is limited to 15 people. A limited number of walk-up spaces will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for the lecture and beginners workshop.
