Oak Bridge at Bank Rock Bay

Oak Bridge

The charming and elegant Oak Bridge at Bank Rock Bay stretches from the northern edge of the Lake into the western edge of the wild Ramble, offering stunning views of the Midtown skyline.

Designed by Calvert Vaux, Oak Bridge is one of the larger and more elegant of the Park's wooden bridges. The footbridge was originally built of white oak — hence its early name, Oak Bridge — and featured panels of decorative cast iron set in the railings. Created as one of the major entrances to the Ramble, it has become a popular Park destination for birdwatchers.
