Atlas Cedar

Named after the Atlas Mountains in northwest Africa, the Atlas cedar is the only tree species native to Africa in Central Park. Birds love this evergreen tree for cover, nesting, and roosting. You can find the Atlas cedar west of the Reservoir between 85th and 90th Streets, and between the Center Drive and Chess & Checkers House.
