Trillium

Trillum flowers occur in parts of the western United States and western Canada, usually in rich forest. In the northern part of its range, it often grows under Douglas-fir trees. Occasionally, trillium ovatum plants will have petals that are maroon rather than the typical white. In Central Park, they bloom brilliantly in Strawberry Fields and Turtle Pond in April.
