Chess Lecture & Simul with Joshua Colas and Beginners Workshop

Learn techniques from International Master Joshua Colas. Then, put your skills to the test while Joshua challenges 30 players—simultaneously! After the lecture and simul, beginners can learn the basics of the game.

Learn techniques from International Master Joshua Colas, who was once the youngest Black player to become a US Chess Federation National Master, which he accomplished in 2010 at 12 years old. After the lecture, put your skills to the test while Joshua challenges 30 players—simultaneously!

We are also delighted to offer our beginners workshop after the lecture and simul. Participants will be taught the game rules, including how the pieces move and how to recognize and execute basic checkmate patterns, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
