ABOUT M.A.R. QUINTET

M. Alex Ramirez is a Colombian saxophonist, composer, producer, and educator based in New York City. His ideals on music focus on creating honest representations of his emotions while building a community that fosters innovation within the group and audience.

Ramirez was awarded third place in the Carinthia International Jazz Award Competition in 2020. A recent graduate from NYU, Ramirez performs in venues all over New York City. His current mentors include Ben Wendel, Baptiste Herbin, Kris Urbanski, and Melissa Aldana.

Ramirez recently released his debut EP, Coalescence, out on all streaming platforms.
