Playmates Arch

Playmates Arch, designed by Calvert Vaux in 1863, stands between the Dairy and the Carousel. Its name is a nod to its location in the Children’s District, an area of Central Park that includes attractions and facilities designed for the Park’s youngest visitors. The brick and stone arch, with its distinctive horizontal lines, features twin cast-iron railings.
