  • November 5: The Mayors of Central Park

    The Park has existed under the leadership of over 40 New York City mayors—from Mayor Fernando Wood, who oversaw the opening of Central Park, to Mayor John Lindsay, who witnessed its era of massive cultural change, among others. Together we'll explore the interesting ways some of our city mayors have shaped, and been shaped by, the heart of the City.
  • November 12: Central Park in the ’60s and ’70s

    In the 1960s and 1970s, Central Park was a hotbed of cultural innovation, home to large concerts and gatherings. Yet, it was also a place that faced immense challenges brought on by the City’s fiscal crisis. Join us as we revisit these defining decades and examine what the Park was like during its most fiery years.
  • November 19: New North Meadow Center

    It’s the grand opening of the newly restored North Meadow Center! Go behind the scenes of the restoration to see the before and after of this beloved space.
  • November 26: Skating at the Davis Center

    When Central Park first opened in December 1858, ice-skating quickly became a favorite pastime, drawing throngs of New Yorkers eager to glide across the ice. Over 160 years later, that joy endures as the Park welcomes a new generation of skaters to the Gottesman Rink at the Davis Center. See how this reimagined space is coming to life for the colder temperatures, and learn what all the excitement is about!
