Horse-Drawn Carriage Rentals

Horse-drawn carriages line up inside the Park, at Central Park South on the East Drive at Grand Army Plaza, Center Drive at Sixth Avenue, and West Drive at Seventh Avenue.

While the Conservancy manages and restores the landscapes and infrastructure within Central Park, we do not manage the horse-drawn carriages. The carriages are operated by various private companies and licensed by the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs. Rides are available Monday to Friday starting at 10:00 am, and Saturday and Sunday starting at 9:00 am. Prices are negotiated with carriage drivers.

Regulations:

All rides are subject to New York City rules and regulations and ordinances:

All rental horses must stop working and be brought back to the stable when the temperature reaches 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32oC) and above in the summer and 18 degrees Fahrenheit (8oC) or below in the winter.

Capacity limit: Four adults per carriage or three adults and two kids under the age of 12, or two adults and two kids under the age of 12 or one adult and four kids under the age of 12.

Call 911 to report the abuse or neglect of an animal
