Balcony Bridge

Balcony Bridge supports the West Drive across an inlet connecting the Lake with Naturalists’ Walk. On the east side of the bridge, benches sit inside balconies offering a gorgeous view over the Lake to the City skyline beyond. The bridge itself can be best viewed from the Ramble or from a rowboat on the Lake.

When Balcony Bridge was built, this western lobe of the Lake was the Ladies’ Pond, a female-only area for skating without chaperones. The Ladies’ Pond was filled in during the 1930s.
